Between 2016-2017 I worked with The Change Foundation Charity and project managed a successful program called Dance4Change aimed at young women and girls aged 16 to 24 in London, I recruited passionate young women from colleges who had no formal dance training. Over half of participants had experienced being in the looked after care system. Weekly sessions were held at prestigious venues like the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, Islington Arts Factory, and Danceworks, our sessions focused on dance, choreography, expression, and the freedom of movement. Beyond dance, I empowered participants with life skills such as discipline, resilience, and self-love to navigate college and life's challenges. We organised enriching trips to theatres, music shows, and photo shoots. They performed at a movie premier screening for Desert Dancer at the Institute of Contemporary Arts where they not only danced but also sang. Through mentoring and dance instruction, participants blossomed artistically and personally, coming out of their shells and developing as young women within the program.
